•What conventions of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? One convention I will include in my movie is the Ambient sound in the background. Another is the Dim lighting to create a creepy atmosphere. I think I might also use close up in my film would help to show emotion. • What conventions) of the genre did the movie have that you liked? I liked the film including close up shot, along with the inclusion of two shots in the film. There are also Three shots included in several parts of the movie as well. I also liked the use of dialogue throughout the film. • What conventions of the genre did the movie have that did not appeal to you and you are thinking of not filming for your final task? One convention I didn't like was high angle, because I would think it is difficult to film. I also don't like point of view shot because that would al

Genre Research: Decision (Final Task)

After Looking through the three genres I researched, Horror, Thriller and Romance I finally decided which one I will base my opening sequence on. I decided It would be thriller, because It should be pretty easy to use this genre to film. I have a backyard and the inside of house to film the opening sequence, along with the driveway. Also I have some of the props already prepared. I didn't choose horror because my mom and my brother would be terrible actors for that genre. Romance wouldn't really work because I don't have all the costumes on hand at the moment.

Pitch Blog (Final Task)

For my first choice for the opening sequence, a kid is hanging out his backyard, but he comes across an unknown person wielding a shovel. I am interested in making this film because it will be different than most movies with a killer. It would be different in the way that the killer would use a shovel as their main weapon instead of a knife. I think I might be interested in filming this because it would only require 2 people to act the parts and 1 person to film. I also think this idea wouldn't be too hard to film because shovels are easy to acquire for a prop. Also the movie could just take place near my house.  The second choice I made is, a young man finds a time traveling device that could change reality. I am also quite interested in this idea because I like movies that deal with fictional events. I also think that having the movie revolve around a time traveling device is cool. But, the film could be pretty difficult to film because I would have to design more props that I do

Group blog (Final Task)

Before starting this group blog, I thought I was going work with a partner or a few group mates, but I'm not so sure that idea would work the best. I also don't know too many people in my class that would want to work with me. The last time I decided I wanted to work in a group, our group weren't able to get each other's names before our group blog assignment for our music video assignment  was due. In the end, I had to finish the group blog assignment alone, which at the time I thought would be very difficult, but I ended up getting grades on the music video assignments overall. So, I think my decision is working alone on this assignment.  I also think that working by myself allows for me to decide when I would like to work on the final task assignment. I might also ask my mom and my brother to help with recording and giving me advice. Working on the final assignment alone allows for me to oversee the project and make sure it runs smoothly. If I were to work in a group
